What is important…What is it for you? Is it your family…? Your boyfriend or girlfriend? Or rank and honor? Money?
Some people would say that it is their memories which they can’t buy with money. We have various things which are important to us and it’s different among different people. What do you think about which is the most important thing…? Is it your “life”? We often use a phrase that there is something more precious than life. Well, if it is a material object, we could somehow get it, but when it comes to life, we can’t just get it, can we? If our “life” has gone, then we can’t feel anything anymore.

But, I think that we aren’t consciously thinking of the “life” in daily life. Why…? When you eat your dinner, do you think that the food (meat and vegetables) in front of you had their own lives before they got lined up on a table…? If we can think of these lives, we may become able to get interested in our own “lives”, too.

ひかりの国プロジェクト

When we become conscious more about our own “lives” …., is when we are dying. When we die, we have to let everything go, don’t we? The rank, honor, money, and memories and so on…It’s hard to assume when we are alive though. Right now, aren’t you thinking such as if only your company is fine, and you don’t care about the other companies? As long as your family is fine, you don’t care about the others, do you?

Now, please think well for a while. For example, assume that your body is a collective (earth). What do you think, and what’s the most important? Hands, legs, eyes, ears…..? Which one? As for our organs, which is the most important for you? Is it your heart, liver or kidney? But even if one thing is missing, then we will be in a big trouble. Everything is important. We have various important things, but what is important is always something for individuals and not for the whole. Here is a question. What is important for the individual person and always has “something” attached to it. What do you think what it is?

The answer is the “Self=ego”. Also the “self” generates the “frame”. It’s always something like my company, my family, my memory, my place (local) and so on. As you can see, all these are the “frame” which “you (self)” made.

Well, who owns nature? Sun…who owns it? My sun, my moon, or my ocean…? We don’t say that, do we? You (self) generate the frame, but nature doesn’t. Nature which is something that has no such frame could be cruel on us.

ひかりの国プロジェクト

Because it can wipe out everything that we built, such as rank or honor or money. Nature doesn’t have any frame and it could happen to anyone. It sometimes wipes out our “lives”, too. But we can’t still deny it. So, I think, nature is the one which can remove these “frames” of self and it may be able to bring us a heart of concern for others (animals and plants as well).
When it happens, “piece of mind” will come to you. Yes, when something is important (frame) has gone, the light will shine.
