ひかりの国プロジェクト

Do you throw soybeans on the day of Setsubun (節分) festival at your house? We open the doors of our houses and throw soybeans while shouting “Oniwa-soto, Fukuwa-uchi (Demons out! Good luck in!)” Demons are something we abhor and a symbol of something scary. But I think that because these demons are there, we can let out our pent-up feelings.

Well, poor demons. Only because they look different from us (?), they always get into a trouble. We judge everything by appearance, don’t we? Yes, the way we look is more important for the people who live in this world….
But talking more about these demons, they may be very special ones like gods. They may be trying to look scary on purpose to test us. What I mean is that they are trying to see us to judge who has a pure heart (gentle heart). So why don’t you say “Fukuwa-uchi, Oni-mo-uchi (Demons in! Good luck in!)” instead, when throwing soybeans?

What? You have been doing it already!? Well then, why don’t you wish for demons’ happiness? Then you may see demons’ tears of thankfulness which are coming out of their eyes. The tears may increase your “luck”. Why don’t you start wishing for demons’ happiness on this Setsubun (節分) festival?

By the way, as for the earthquakes which have often been occurring these days, I wonder if it’s because the demons (=earth) are crying. I wonder if they are crying because we focus only on developing cities and so on, so then they are shaking our minds and bodies to let us know something…..Everything has been tremulous these days…

*You may be able to find someone good for you to get married with even not going to Tokyo Daijingu (shrine) to make a wish but being niece to other people. You think that it is none of your business…???
* There are actually some regions where the people who live there say “Fukuwa-uchi, Oni-mo-uchi (Demons in! Good luck in!)” when throwing soybeans on the day of the setsubun festival.
