When we buy something new, we can say that it’s a “new one”. In the case of a product, we can tell if it’s new or old by looking at it. But if it’s “something new which you do”, it could be hard to be seen, I think. Because…..products are the “results”, but something that you do is the “factor”…
Before any “new product” is released, there must be a phase of planning for it. At the beginning, people have only a foggy idea such as “I wish to make something like….” So then they can start planning to produce something, but it’s usually hard because anything which people have never seen before in the market isn’t easily accepted, no matter how hard you work on the planning. That’s what making something new means, isn’t it?
The reason why people don’t understand is….because when they make a judgment about something, we rely on our “memory (=experience)”. We always have new memories piled up in our daily life, but the “memory” itself is something of the past. Something of the past means something old, so something “new” can’t be created with it, can it?
Well then, how can we start something new? What we need to do this is to have “courage”. It requires significant courage. A person who can achieve this must be a big man and an adventurer. Trying something which no one had tried before has risks, too.
Suppose that you want to have a new house. There are options about what you can do, such as building an extension or reforming the house that you have now. But what you can do with these options is limited, isn’t it? If you build a totally new house, you must start thinking from its foundation (including the land). In the case of building a new house, because you will need a lot of money and energy, you have to take a big risk. Except for some people who can afford it without getting a house loan, most of the people need to get a house loan which takes years and years to pay off.
It’s a kind of challenge, isn’t it? We can be scared when thinking about the future.
As just described, when you do something new, “fear and risk” which is something we don’t want always come together. Those of you who get a house loan (=fear) must be challengers. So, what can you do to have the courage to overcome the fear (=which you feel because you can’t predict the future and because you can’t make a judgment)? It’s described in the previous parts of Hikaru no moto (elements of the light).
By the way, the world in the modern era has been experiencing a rapid change through expanding globalization (trend of the times), but I wonder how many people can actually catch up with it. Also, this rapid change is called a “coming of the new age” and I wonder what kind of “new age” it will be.
*I know that some people say “I just felt the descent of God so I got the inspiration” when they get their new idea.
