As you can tell from the title, the theme this time is about a recent Japanese hit chart song, “Goddess of the toilet”. The song has long lyrics, do you remember it…? It says “there is a goddess in a toilet and if you keep it clean, then you can become pretty”….
We usually have a big clean up day at the end of each year, don’t we? So we can feel refreshed and get ready for welcoming the New Year. Also, because people want to clean their cars, car washes at gas stations get very busy, too. It’s all for welcoming the New Year, but if we always keep our house clean, we won’t have to have such a big cleaning day, will we? But we usually try to take it easy on a daily basis and not do much house cleaning, I guess.
On this big cleaning day at the end of each year, we usually clean up the places where we don’t usually pay attention to (places which we can’t see), so we end up having a huge amount of rubbish, piles and piles….We are even surprised to see how much rubbish we kept in a house.
By the way, it is said that there is a god of the toilet apart from the song and this god likes everything to be clean and is always cleaning. But it is also said that the clothes the god wears are old and worn out, so it’s not like the ones in the song though. But the heart of this god is clean and shiny.
It’s because the god always clears unnecessary thoughts in his mind, so his heart is clean and pure like a baby’s mind. So it’s said that when people get in good with the god, they don’t become pretty but become luckier. Therefore, if you wish to have more luck, you’d better clean your toilet harder.
The reason why you can have more luck is actually not because you get in good with the god. Well, it’s no wonder because there is no gurantee that the god actually exists. But, what do you think why? Please read Part 43 to find out.
