ひかりの国プロジェクト

莫妄想makumozo is also a Buddhist (zen) revelation and means “don’t have any delusions”. It’s been told by the priests for a long time, but we are still having the delusions in our daily life, I think. We become worried about things that haven’t happed yet or are afraid of something that we even haven’t tried yet and so on. It may be said that it’s a type of mild neurotic disease…

As for a change in physical condition, when some people have a stomach ache, they may think “I may suffer from cancer” and when they find out more informaitn that is suggestive of their condition, they may think “it must be cancer, I will die” and get dipressed and so on. On the other hand, others try to think “I’m fine. That must just be my imagination” and pursuade themselves that they are ok…Whichever it is, the people get the noids.

ひかりの国プロジェクト

Assume that one day when you were in a town, a beautiful lady was looking at you, and when the eyes met she turned her eyes away shyly. You thought that she might’ve liked you and you spoke to her. But she pointed to your pants and said “your zipper is open….” So thinking that she liked you was a misunderstanding. It was simply a delusion.

Also some people have dreams (delusions) such as “I want to be a hero” or “I want to be rich”, and although their dreams (delusions) are big, they don’t make any effort. Sometimes the delusions even become harsh (grandiose delusion or persecutory delusion) and they try to escape from the reality. I think that pleasant delusions are sometimes ok though…

ひかりの国プロジェクト

Anyway, we all tend to have the delusions. This world is driven by what will be and what should be rather than what it is. As for the predictions, business and consumption prediction and so on, these are only predictions, but it’s possible for us to become obsessed by them. So we become not able to see the facts and respond correctly. If we don’t have a subjective view (delusion) but an objective view (reality), the answer will automatically turn up.

In zen, it’s explained that we shouldn’t be obsessed by those delusions but we should only address the things in front of us.
Although humans have those delusions, nature isn’t a delusion and is always just what it is. The rain is rain, a typhoon is a typhoon… nature is a reality. Nature is very strict and our delusions will be easily blown away by nature. If it’s dangerous you must run away immediately.

ひかりの国プロジェクト

If you have such delusions as “this place is fine…” or “I’m safe and won’t die… ” and so on, you will fail to escape. Those delusions are very dangerous in the case of disasters. We must accept the reality and we must follow it. If we have time to discuss which is right or which is wrong, we must move on (run away). The delusions won’t do anything for you in nature, but I rather think that nature could help us to be free from them though.

We have to do things when it’s right time through each season as it passes. For example, we have to do rice planting when it’s the right time, and we have to fertilize the soil when it’s necessary. I suppose that we have no choice but to do it without being too afraid of any change or worrying too much (having delusions)…. I suppose that only people think that they don’t want to make a change, in contrast with nature which changes all the time.
